Kolkata, June 15, 2020: ‘Composite Pressure Vessel’ is one of the highest selling products of New Materials Business (NMB). It is used in the water filtration (Reverse Osmosis) units for residential, commercial and industrial segments. It acts as a container to hold the media filter for sand, gravel, activated charcoal among others, and is operated by a pump. This process removes the suspended and dissolved particles iron, manganese, and others before the water passes through a house of membranes for RO for further removal of dissolved chemicals. The water then becomes safe for consumption. The Pressure Vessels are made through a process called Filament Winding that uses a rotating mould made of fibrereinforced polymer (FRP). A combination of resin-dipped glass fibre and other additives makes it light-weight, corrosionresistant, durable and easy to install.

“Solution used in the water filtration (Reverse Osmosis) units for residential, commercial and industrial segments makes up for one of the highest-selling products of NMB.”
